March Reading Wrap-Up

March came in quietly and ended in a whirlwind. Between ARC deadlines, Libby chaos, and a streak of emotionally intense reads, this month pushed me in ways I didn’t expect — but in the best way. It was a strong finish, and I’m excited to share everything I read.

Top Reads

The Lion’s Den – Alina Hurtado (5★ | ARC – Available on KU)

This story hooked me immediately and kept surprising me in the best ways. The reveals unfold with such precision that every twist lands exactly when it should, and the emotional depth of the characters made me care far more than I expected. I loved the tension, the blurred identities, and the way the story explores who we become under pressure. One twist in particular absolutely floored me. Intense, addictive, and unforgettable — I can’t wait for Book 2.

Ocean of Ink – A.R. Conwell (5★ | ALC – Available on KU)

This was one of the most satisfying slow burns I’ve read in a long time. The relationship unfolds through letters, small gestures, and quiet trust, and every shift in tone feels intentional and earned. Wren and Castien are beautifully layered—soft, strategic, and deeply human—and their dynamic had me completely invested. I loved the balance of romance and mystery, the soft magic, and the way the story explores connection without rushing a single moment. The audiobook performances added even more emotional depth. This one stayed with me long after I finished.

Scream For Me – A. R. Aravena (4.5★ | ARC -Available on KU)

This story gutted me in the best way. Lana’s unraveling is written with such raw psychological honesty that I felt every moment of her confusion, fear, and fragile hope. Her dynamic with Dante is messy and human, shaped by trauma rather than dramatics, and the book handles their pain with a level of care that surprised me. The mystery is tight, the pacing stronger than other books I’ve read in a similar “world”, and the emotional accuracy is striking. And that cliffhanger — brutal, perfectly timed, and impossible to shake. I’m already reaching for the next book.

Reflection & April Preview

March ended on such a strong note. Even though not every book was a 4.5–5 star read, so many of them lingered with me in ways I didn’t expect, and I loved that. It was a heavier month for ALCs, ARCs, and Libby drops than I’m used to, and juggling deadlines with mood‑reading energy definitely added some pressure. Libby in particular decided to unleash everything at once, which meant suspending one book and leaving another untouched. But the last stretch of the month absolutely took off — finishing seven books in a single week felt wild and strangely satisfying.

April is already shaping up to be a lighter, more flexible reading month, and I’m excited for that shift. With fewer ARC and ALC commitments on the calendar, I’m hoping to settle into a more relaxed rhythm, finish a couple of Libby reads, and finally dive into some KU indie titles that have been sitting on my list. After such a packed March, I’m feeling energized and ready to follow my curiosity wherever it leads.

If you want to explore more of the vibes I read this month, here are a few posts that pair well with March’s mix of mafia tension, romantasy slow burns, and darker underworld themes:

The Emotional Borrow — A Little About My Approach

I read for the feeling a story leaves behind — the emotional borrow you carry with you after the last page. When I recommend something, it’s because the book delivered on what it promised: the tropes, the tone, the emotional payoff, and the overall experience.

I move through a lot of books across Kindle Unlimited and Audible, which means I’m always paying attention to what the genre is doing right now. I look for stories that land their beats, honor their setup, and make your time feel well spent.

Every pick I share comes from that lens: thoughtful, current, and focused on how the book actually reads, not just how it’s marketed.
