February Reading Wrap-Up

February leaned hard into Sapphire Angst, emotional pressure, and character‑driven intensity — the kind of reading month that leaves you wrung out in the best way. Even with a few softer Golden Comfort reads woven in, this month was defined by tension, catharsis, and the kind of emotional stakes that sit heavy in your chest long after the audiobook ends.

Top Reads

Pretty in Pink – L.J. Shen (5★ | KU + FREE Audible Whispersync)

A rare 5‑star novella for me. This was sharp, emotional, and surprisingly tender, with a heroine who refuses to be small and a hero who sees her clearly from the start. It’s fast, punchy, and full of that electric LJ Shen tension, but grounded in a sweetness I didn’t expect. A perfect insomnia read that completely stole my heart.

One Killer Night – Trilina Pucci (5★ | KU + FREE Audible Whispersync)

This was pure fun from start to finish — twisty, nostalgic, a little chaotic, and so full of heart. The mystery kept me guessing, the tone was playful without losing emotional weight, and the characters were instantly lovable. It hit every one of my “this is why I read” buttons: surprise, warmth, humor, and a twist that landed exactly right. Such a great time.

Kingdom of Ash – Sarah J. Maas (5★ | Audible -paid)

A breathtaking, heart‑shredding finale that left me crying more times than I can count. Aelin’s arc is mythic and deeply human, Fenrys absolutely broke me, and the themes of sacrifice, forgiveness, and choosing love while you still can hit so hard. The final chapters felt like a long, necessary exhale — pure catharsis after so much darkness. This series is officially top‑tier for me, and I’m already planning to buy the full ebook set so I can reread it properly.

Reflection & March Preview

February ended up being a fast, chaotic, really satisfying reading month. I bounced between sweet novellas, unhinged Onyx energy, and the emotional marathon of Kingdom of Ash, and somehow it all worked together. Finishing TOG completely reshaped the month — it’s now an all‑time favorite series, and I’m already planning to buy the ebooks so I can reread the whole thing with audio. February wasn’t as heavy as January, but it still had that mix of tension, fun, and big feelings that feels very me.

March is already shaping up to be a fantasy‑heavy month with two ALCs on deck and several Libby holds likely to hit at once. It’s going to be a different kind of busy — less chaos, more big worlds and long reads — and I’m curious to see how that shifts my pacing after such a novella‑heavy February.

March marks the turn into Onyx Chaos and Obsidian Edge, with the blog stepping into darker moods and higher‑stakes emotional lanes. But for now, you can dive into Feels Like February

The Emotional Borrow — A Little About My Approach

I read for the feeling a story leaves behind — the emotional borrow you carry with you after the last page. When I recommend something, it’s because the book delivered on what it promised: the tropes, the tone, the emotional payoff, and the overall experience.

I move through a lot of books across Kindle Unlimited and Audible, which means I’m always paying attention to what the genre is doing right now. I look for stories that land their beats, honor their setup, and make your time feel well spent.

Every pick I share comes from that lens: thoughtful, current, and focused on how the book actually reads, not just how it’s marketed.
